Grafting Polycultures?

The innovative task of grafting tomatoes and potatoes provides a beautiful potential of unifying plants that can grow together because they are in the same family. Is there a potential here to post 3, 4, and 5 different kinds of fruits on one plant? This process reminds me of the apple tree grafted with the pear and the rose. I will definitely be researching more of these combinations in the future!
